So we decided to go on our "First Annual Healthy Girls Executive Retreat" - sound official, doesn't it? We had been working so hard to get this DBA Network Business in a Box (we call it the "BinaB") together, we thought a little break would do us some good. I'm sure it would have - but we worked more than we retreated. That's not to say that we didn't have a wonderful time as well. When we were done working at the end of the day, we put on some good music, poured a glass of wine, and solved the world's problems together as I cooked us something decadent. We tried to stay away from work talk during our 2 evenings, bet inevitably it would turn to something Healthy Girls related. That's okay - that's our passion and our joy and if I've learned nothing else in this process, it is that you will find no "work" in your passion. And what a blessing to have a shared goal with 2 of your best friends. We are so commited to our vision - to helping young girls see in themselves all the possibilities that we see in them; and to empowering women to do what we've done - to build the classes and help the girls thereby helping themselves. It is really such a simple plan that it's beautiful. Strong girls turn into strong women who help strong girls turn into strong women! It's not a vicious cycle- it's a delicious cycle! And one we're confident can impact the very world in which we live. Think about it - if more women were in power in the world, don't you think there would be more compassion, more compromise, more discussion - less war? Those women are among us - they just need the confidence to share their inherent wisdom and grace with the rest of the world. Those "women" may be little girls that are in our classes right now, but what a blessing to have even a small part in bringing to fruition a dream borne of strength, courage - and peace.
Okay, that got a little deep - sorry. Back to the retreat. Our dear friends Sharon and Mike gave us their lake house for a weekend in January and it was so wonderful. We got a ton done. We did a lot of work, a lot of planning, and lest you think it was all work and no play - I give you - our attempt at bringing a spa package to our Executive Retreat:
Yours in facial heaven --
