Today, I got back to what makes me happiest - a walk in the woods. It was a crisp fall afternoon in mid-November, my 2 daughters and another family were with me, and it couldn't have been better.  There's that smell that is only present in the fall.  The kids were taking turns seeing who could find the prettiest red leaf, then the pretties yellow leaf, etc.  They were all running and skipping and laughing - things that kids should be doing - healthy things - things that relieve stress.  And my stress was relieved by seeing them so happy and by just taking time out of my too busy schedule to look up at the tree tops and notice nests I had never seen before.  I took deep, healing breaths of that special fall smell.  I chatted and laughed with friends as we walked 4 miles.  We relaxed and we got exercise.  It wasn't an organized class - it was just fun, and movement and deep breathing and differing terrain.  You don't have to wait to join a gym or to have a session with a child-psychologist - head out to the woods, look around, stretch, walk and breath.  Allow yourself and your kids to decompress.  And as a bonus - you'll all sleep wonderfully that night.  Hope you get the joy I did today - very soon.  Good night . . .
